variations of tenderness, passion and sensuality. 

The composition of Eternal Idol accentuates the psychological content. 

The deliberate vertical line by the woman's head and arms is opposed to the slant of the man's body and increases 

the impression of dependence on her respect.

The Kiss (1889) 

One of Rodin's most romantic sculpture. The fist kiss of 2 young beloved. And also their last. Fransesca, a young female out of the middle Italy in 1275 and the young Paolo were in love. During this kiss her husband came in and killed both lovers. 

Among the presentations of loving couples The Kiss is certainly not the most daring. And yet it has always been considered as the symbol of sensuality and its tremendous celebrity is explained by its sensitivity and the skilful arrangement of its forms. 

Like most of his sculptures, The Kiss, was also to be a part of The Gates of Hell.

The front-facing composition leads one to suppose that this group was perhaps originally designed as part of the Gates of Hell, 

but it was finally excluded since the expression of happiness on these lovers' faces could not be found a place in the 

tragic universe portrayed in the Gates of Hell. The torso of the young woman, which is in fact the Torso of Adèle extended with arms, 

head and legs, is shown in the upper left-hand corner of the tympanum. Her arched back creates a sort of transition with the architecture of the whole. 

It is also to be found in the Fall of an angel, leaning backwards on a mound.
